Christmas in Action: On April 28, 2012 over 220 volunteers in Canton Michigan headed out to help maintain and repair the homes of their elderly and less fortunate neighbors. In this, its 7th year, the Wayne County chapter of Christmas in Action worked on 12 homes. Work included putting on a new roof, cleaning up yards, replacing concrete, remodeling a bathroom, fixing appliances, painting and so much more.
House captains coordinated the work being done at each site that day as knowledgeable experts performed electrical, plumbing, heating and roofing repairs, while teams of unskilled volunteers painted walls, washed windows, and did general interior and exterior spring cleaning.
